Handle Trash With 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle)

3R consists of reuse, reduce, and recycle. Reuse means to reuse waste that still can be used for the same function or other functions. Reduce means to reduce all things that lead to waste. And Recycle means to process returned (recycled) waste into new products or products that are useful.

This method is still the best way to manage and handle waste with various problems. Application of the 3R system or reuse, reduce, and recycle to be one solution to waste management in addition to process waste into compost or meanfaatkan waste into a power source (Power Plant Waste). Precisely waste management system with the 3R (Reduce Reuse Recycle) can be implemented by everyone in daily activities.

Do the 3R (Reduce Reuse Recycle) Every Day. Manage the garbage with 3R system can be done by anyone, at any time (every day), anywhere, and at no cost. All it takes only a little time and concern for us.

Here are the activities of the 3R (Reduce Reuse Recycle) which can be done at home, school, office, or inother public places.

Examples Reuse in Daily Activities:
  • Choose a container, bag or objects that can be used several times or repeatedly. For example, the use of cloth napkins rather than using tissue, using a battery that can be in charge again.
  • Use the return containers or packaging that has been vacant for the same function or other functions. For example, beverage bottles used cooking oil back into place.
  • Use of electronic storage devices that can be erased and rewritten.
  • Use the empty side of the paper to write.
  • Use e-mail (electronic mail) to send letters.
  • Sell or give a distinct waste to those who need.

Examples Reduce in daily Activities:
  • Choose products with packaging that can be recycled.
  • Avoid wearing and buying products that generate large amounts of garbage.
  • Use a product that can be recharged (refilled). For example stationery that can be refilled again).
  • Maximize the use of electronic storage devices that can be erased and rewritten.
  • Reduce use of disposable materials.
  • Use both sides of paper for writing and photocopying.
  • Avoid buying and using goods that are less necessary.

Examples Recycle in daily Activities:
  • Select a product and packaging can be recycled and easy to decompose.
  • Recycling waste paper into paper or cardboard back.
  • Do the processing of organic waste into compost.
  • Perform non-organic waste into useful products.
